It has been two weeks since search for a new head coach of Michigan Tech hockey began. Over those weeks Tech Hockey Guide has profiled 16 potential candidates for the opening left by Mel Pearson's departure to Michigan.
It's been only one week since the University of Michigan formally introduced Mel Pearson as their new head coach. The search for his replacement began immediately. Today we review all the candidates we've profiled that so far, discuss how the process went last time in 2011 and bring up some of the rumors and other news items related to the most likely candidates to be the next Head Coach of Michigan Tech.
The Tech Hockey Guide staff brainstormed our picks top candidates. Through the next few weeks we will break down potential candidates while discussing pedigree as a player and coach as well as likelihood of being Coach Pearson’s replacement. So far, we've discussed the Protege, Bill Muckalt; the Thoroughbred, Ron Rolston; and now we take a look at the Young Gun, Cam Ellsworth, former Huskies player under both Mike Sertich and Jamie Russell.
