Here we go with Linkorama, the third week of the season for the Huskies. Huskies come back home after getting swept on the road. It was slow for the recruits, but the Alumni had a much better week.
Recruits
Tech Hockey Guide has articles this past week about Alex Gillies and Brett Boeing pertaining to why they chose MTU and what they will bring to the future of the Huskies.
Reid Sturos had an excellent weekend for the Nanaimo Clippers, helping his BCHL team get a 6-5 victory on the weekend. Sturos had 2 goals in the second period.
Dylan Steman helped his Cedar Rapids (USHL) team come up with a 5-1 win on Friday. In the win, Steman had 2 assists and was +2.
Mike Neville was named captain of Canada East for this year’s World Junior A Challenge, which will take place later this month in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Neville is the only representative for Michigan Tech this year but in the past, players like Jujhar Khaira, Steven Seigo, Tommy Brown, and Kevin Genoe have all participated.
Alumni
Chris Conner continued to show his talents, helping the Portland Pirates (AHL) to a 4-0 win and scoring a goal on the power play.
Looks like Andy Sutton may be calling it a career, after his latest injury.
What a Night for Jordan Baker, as he continued to show his value for Rapid City (CHL), scoring two more goals on the power play and helping his team to a big win against the Cutthroats.
Brett Olson had a goal and 2 assists for Abbotsford, on their way to a 4-0-1 start.
Riley Nelson was the first member selected to the Colorado Eagle’s All Decade Team. “I outlasted everybody else,” Nelson joked. “It’s an honor to be mentioned along with all the other great players who have been here and had success here. I want to thank the fans for voting for me.
Josh Robinson continued his good play in net and his Steelhead teammates scored 7 times as Robo got his third win and remained perfect on the season.
Other Items
Jamie Phillips got his first action for the Huskies, when he came in the game Friday night after Pheonix Copley gave up his 4th goal.
